Easter weekend 2003 and we were both on a tour of Ireland with our respective friends. Of the two tour buses that went that day, we happened to be on the same bus. Naturally, being the only South Africans on the tour, we had a bit of a chin-wag.

 

A week later, back in London, Kevin phoned Caroline with a bogus excuse that he had a spare ticket to the theatre "Stomp" and nobody to go with. And so it all began...

 

A couple of braai's later (in true South African style) and a trip to the World War 1 battlefields in Belgium and France (to share our joint interest in the world wars) and the rest, as they say, is history.

 

Almost exactly a year later, Kevin proposed on bended knee next to the dam on Hay Farm.

 

Another year later (and two years after we met) we are returning to South Africa. This time to tie the knot.
